The short version

The Paycheck Method tools are offline-first files that run entirely in your own browser. We cannot see your financial data — it never leaves your device.

Your financial data

  • Everything you enter (income, expenses, debts, savings, credit scores, profiles) is stored only in your browser's local storage, on your device.
  • The tools have no accounts, no login, no server, and make no network requests with your data.
  • We have no access to it, no copy of it, and no way to recover it for you — which is why the tools include an Export/Backup feature. Backups you export are files on your device, under your control.
  • Clearing your browser data (or using the included reset page) permanently deletes the data on that device.

Our websites

  • The main site is a static page. It does not set advertising cookies or run third-party analytics trackers.
  • If you contact us (by email), we receive whatever you choose to send and use it only to help you.

Purchases

Purchases are processed by our store provider (Payhip) and its payment processors (such as Stripe or PayPal). They handle your payment details under their own privacy policies — we never see your card number. We receive the information needed to deliver your purchase, such as your email address.

Community & newsletter

  • If you join our newsletter we store your email address to send you the emails you asked for; every email has an unsubscribe link that removes you immediately.
  • Community accounts store a username, email, and a securely hashed password, plus a login cookie while signed in.
  • Our community site keeps privacy-friendly, first-party visit counts (page, country, browser type — never your IP address or identity), and no advertising cookies.
  • Fonts are self-hosted on our own site — no third-party font service receives your visits.

Do Not Track

Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no industry-standard way to respond to it, and because our sites do not track you across other companies' websites or serve targeted advertising, we do not change our behavior in response to DNT signals — we simply do not do the cross-site tracking DNT is meant to limit.

Your choices & data retention

  • Newsletter: unsubscribe any time using the link in any email; we remove your address immediately.
  • Community account: email us to access, correct, or delete your account and its data.
  • We keep newsletter and account information only while your subscription or account is active, plus what we must keep for tax and legal records. Privacy-friendly visit counts are aggregate and not tied to you.

Children

The product is intended for adults managing their own finances and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated. Meaningful changes will be noted on the main page.
